Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Scinops (“Pickt”, “we”, “us”) for your use of pickt.one. By creating, opening or answering a pick you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use Pickt.
1. What Pickt is
Pickt helps a small group decide something. One person asks a question and lists options, shares a link, everyone answers privately, and Pickt shows the options the group agreed on. Pickt is free and funded by advertising.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services without parental consent. If you use Pickt on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
3. Accounts
An account is optional and free. If you sign in, keep access to your email secure; anyone who can open your sign-in link can access your list of picks. Tell us at info@scinops.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into Pickt. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process that content only as needed to operate and improve the service. You confirm you have the right to share it, including any images or links.
Anyone with the link to a pick can view it and take part. Do not include confidential, sensitive or personal information about other people.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers children;
- infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- send picks as spam, or use Pickt to mislead, defraud or impersonate others;
- link to malware, phishing or other harmful sites;
- probe, overload or disrupt the service, bypass its limits, or access it with automated tools except as we allow;
- try to uncover other people’s individual answers.
6. Reports and removal
Anyone can report a pick with the “Report this pick” link or by writing to info@scinops.com. We may remove or disable any pick, limit usage, or block access where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken or where needed to protect users or the service. If you believe content infringes your rights, send us the pick link and an explanation.
7. Suggestions and link previews
Suggested options are produced by an automated AI system. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable; you decide what goes into your pick. Link previews show titles and images taken from third-party websites, which we do not control or endorse.
8. Advertising
Pickt displays advertisements, including ads served by Google. Advertisers are responsible for their ads. We do not endorse advertised products or services, and your dealings with advertisers are between you and them.
9. Availability and expiry
We aim to keep Pickt available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Picks expire 30 days after they are created and may then be deleted. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. Keep your own record of anything important.
10. Our rights
The Pickt name, logo, design and software belong to Scinops or its licensors. These terms do not give you any right to use them other than to use the service as intended.
11. Disclaimers
Pickt is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Results reflect the answers people give; we are not responsible for decisions you make using Pickt.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scinops is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Pickt. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to 50 euros or the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any consumer rights you have under the law of your country.
13. Indemnity
If you use Pickt for business purposes and your content or your breach of these terms causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs arising from that claim.
14. Ending use
You may stop using Pickt at any time and may ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 4, 10, 11, 12 and 15) survive.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator is established, and its courts have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Pickt after a change, you accept the updated terms.
